Taking another side trip today, this time to Isla de Ometepe. My Granada friend Tim is leaving Salinas so I have spontaneously decided to join him for a bit and return Tuesday to help the kids paint the yoga mural. Tempting to spend a quiet weekend but it will be nice to see Ometepe for the first time with a friend. Ometepe is famous for its beautiful beaches, cloud forests and two volcanos, one of which (Maderas) we plan to climb. I am excited for a challenging hike - but not excited to wear my hiking boots in 90 degree weather. Ah well. Stay tuned!
